BIRTH

Begs the question, where does life begin? And End? There are thousands of different beliefs around the world to answer these questions but they can only be answered with uncertainty when we arrive. Until then, take care of each other and don't waste your ability to love. It is one of the few pure and precious things we have between life and death.

Eyeliner

Makes me think of "sad" emo kids listening to crappy rock music and wearing clothes that are two sizes too small and TRYING to make their hair look like they just woke up from a night's sleep....Grunge was WAY cooler. :)

Dinosaur

I recently watched a documentary called Dinosaurs or Dragons. It talked about how the dragon is in almost every ancient civilizations folklore. Then it started in with how there is evidence that dragons may have been dinosaurs all along. Talks about the potential for there to be some still alive today. Anyways, interesting stuff. Check it out.

Bandana

I wear my bandana to keep the hot dust from my face. The heat of the desert is like a dry radiating oven that only the most equipped creatures can survive. Trees don't grow, life doesn't flourish, but I will make it through, even if it is the last thing I do.

Clover

Green fields cover your view as far as you can see. An ocean of color bright and vibrant. You run down the hill till you are in the midst of the field and lie down among it's waves. With a closer look you see that the whole sea of green that you behold is made up of hundreds of thousands of tiny clover. So you pick one and put it in your pocket as a reminder that where many small things come together, great beauty can be the result.

Deadbolt

It's a false security we use to help us sleep at night. Anyone with half a brain knows that if a burglar is trying to get into a house and is serious about it, A deadbolt is not going to keep them out. Not really sure how it caught on so well, but I guess we need to peace of mind, right?

Intersection

Concrete jungles where the wildlife is controlled by humans pumping pedals and turning steering wheels. It's a controlled chaos that we live in. We have managed to separate ourselves from the laws of nature and have chosen to live in opposition of it. I don't want to see how this one ends.

Footrace (Lyrics)

I dream I'm locked in a footrace
To betray Love to Fate
And at the end Judas said, "I've had enough of this game!"
See I betray my friend for gold
You do simply to behold
Now I'll go to work everyday
And trade my hours for my pay

But before I move on
I need forgiveness for my past mistakes
Because I'm scared of falling
Victim to the ghost of my past ways
I reach to grab onto something
To anchor me to your embrace
I catch your stare and it tells me
To come out of hiding and show my face

There's a storm out my window
Wind wrestles with the trees below
I put a log on the fire
Wait for the warmth to thaw the winter's cold
I climb back into bed
Lay my head by the one that I love
As my mind fades to night
My dreams will carry me on to daylight

Because I've moved on
I found forgiveness for my past mistakes
I'm not scared of falling
Victim to the ghost of my past ways
I reach to grab onto something
To anchor me to your embrace
I catch your stare and it tells me
To come out of hiding and show my face.

Iron

Sturdy like a barge. So many things these days are disposable. Iron is not one of those things. It’s solidarity shifts the baseline for how we judge strength, and if you mix it with the word wine, it makes music. ;)

Styrofoam

How long will we use materials that are unable to be broken down by natural cause. Styrofoam is the perfect example of what's wrong with our mentality towards our precious planet. No excuse in today's modern world for it's continued existence.

Foreign

Traveling to countries other than my own is a desire that I have had for as long as I remember. People say, “If you want to do, you just have to do it.” That is not always the case. But one day, I really hope to be in a position that I can travel to exotic foreign lands and soak up their culture and gain some of their perspective on the world.

Robot

They are going to take over the world if we last that long. Technology is moving at a rate that is nearly impossible to track. It is a scary time and I am not trying to sound like a paranoid conspiracy theorist. Just being real. We better not forget how to survive without the help of machines.

One Word

Okay so I have decided to try something. I found a website called oneword.com and the concept is simple. You click the mouse and a word pops up. Then you start writing about what comes into your head. 60 Seconds is all the time I have. So here we go. I have the site up on another window and I am going to get this started. From now on, if the title of the post is one word...it is probably one of these type of entries. Without further ado...the word is...ACOUSTIC.

Minimalistic Living

I have found out recently that the doctrine of living I have been practicing, by necessity only, for the past several years is now trending as the way to go in today's modern world. Minimalism appears to be the new black. With foreclosures at an all time high, an economy about as stable as the earth's fault lines, and living in a country whose reputation for consuming is as recognizable as the cross we use to represent the religion that supposedly runs our country, I think the swelling popularity of minimalism is the breath of fresh air all of us that don't feel the need to conquer every aspect of life(on this planet, and every other one) needed. I apologize for(length not content) the four line sentence I just wrote. I am a big time supporter of the movement and I will continue to search for ways to make sure that less is more in my life. Here are just a couple of websites that I have found that you can check out if you are at all interested in what I am talking about here. Just a tip of the iceberg but hopefully they are entertaining if not helpful. www.tumbleweedhouses.com.  www.becomingminimalist.com. http://minimalistlifestyle.net.

Have fun, Stay Small

Been a while...Lots going on

So, it has been quite a minute since I have blogged on here. Apologies, life sort of got in the way for a bit. But the light at the end of the Warrensburg tunnel has suddenly gotten much much brighter and the darkness is fading. I found out that I will be graduating at the end of July, officially. I will be able to finish my courses online this summer so as soon as the State of Missouri deems me fit to possess a driver's license again, I am free as a bird. I have been using my time productively though. I have 12 songs that I am all but ready to record and make into my first official album. I talked to my good friend Dan the other night and he informed me that he wants to record the album for me this summer in Dallas, Tx...for free. It's funny sometimes how connections one has sustained from their past sometimes come back and end up being a blessing from above. So I am very excited for the summertime. I will also be taking a trip down to Florida with my parents and younger brother to help my nephew celebrate his confirmation. Not for sure how long I will be staying there but summer in Florida surrounded by family sounds pretty great to me. Then I'm on the road to Rhode Island...To Be Continued...
